From the Chair

AlysonSneed On behalf of the members of the African American Legislative Staff Coordinating Committee (AALSCC), I welcome you to our webpage!

The AALSCC is an organization of legislative staff from across the country that enhances and supports the mission of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL). AALSCC was established under the bylaws of NBCSL in 1994 and will celebrate twenty years of supporting staff and legislators in 2014.

Our goal is to provide training and professional development to legislative staffers while also serving as a legislative resource network that will allow you to meet and interact with colleagues from every region of the country. Our training is accomplished with the support and direction of the NBCSL during their meetings and the annual conference which will be held December 2013 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Our ability to serve our legislatures and the citizens of our respective states is dependent upon our willingness to continue to learn and grow our skills.

Consider this letter your personal invitation to participate and become a member of  the AALSCC.  To join, complete the membership application form and fax to the number listed below or email to Latishea Varnesdeel at .

Thank you for your interest in AALSCC and I look forward to seeing you in Memphis!
