MISSION STATEMENTThe National Black Caucus of State Legislators seeks to develop policies to encourage African American landholdings and land acquisitions in rural regions; promotes high quality research and teaching in the 1890 land grant universities with an emphasis on agriculture, biotechnology, environmental technology and rural economic development; works to encourage young people to seek careers in the fields of agriculture, biotechnology, environmental technology, and rural economic development; works to stop abuses of eminent domain and works to educate the African American community regarding the importance and relevance of its state’s rural communities, agriculture and its many components – nutrition, food stamp programs, energy, conservation, etc.
