NBCSL Remembers Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald
WASHINGTON, DC - The National Black Caucus of State
Legislators’ President Calvin Smyre (D-GA) issues the following
statement on the death of US Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald:
"On behalf of the entire body of the National Black Caucus
of State Legislators, we extend our prayers and condolences to the
family of Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald.
For years, Congresswoman McDonald has worked diligently to address
key issues that affect our constituents, both locally and nationally.
Her steady quest for justice for all, her passion for women’s
rights globally, and her firm commitment to the growth of the African
American community is why she is valued as one of the leading trailblazers
of our time. Congresswoman McDonald has left a treasured legacy
and has set the mark for politicians, both young and old. She will
forever be remembered for her outstanding work on Capitol Hill,
and her allegiance to the laws of our nation.
To the family of Mrs. McDonald, may you find strength in the days
to come, and forever hold on through her loving memories. May God
be with you.”
